No of guests: 380
Venue: Illuminate
Event brief & objective:
The Springboard Awards for Excellence are an annual celebration of hospitality’s finest individuals and businesses, recognising and rewarding their hard work, innovation, and dedication to the industry across sixteen categories.
After the past couple of years, we wanted to get everybody together in person to enjoy a big celebration and have the opportunity to network face-to-face and take some time out to truly appreciate the efforts of the industry.
Why was Illuminate at the Science Museum chosen to host the event?
The event was an in-person celebration and Illuminate provided the perfect breath-taking setting. We were delighted to be able to hold the event in this exquisite venue, which is set across two floors and offers panoramic views of London.
How did Illuminate work for your event?
Guests entered via the Exhibition road entrance and explored the impressive Energy Hall before moving up to Level 4 of Illuminate for a welcome reception before dinner and the awards, which was hosted on Level 5. Following the awards, guests returned to Level 4 to party and network amongst peers until late.
What catering did you require?
Moving Venue created a menu that was a lovely seasonal selection of its new Spring Summer dishes. This included a Pea, Elderflower and Raisin starter; a pine nut and lemon thyme-crusted breast of chicken, enoki mushrooms, shallots, baby new potatoes and a herb vinaigrette sauce for the main dish; and a cherry bavarois and cocoa sablé for dessert.
What AV and production was required?
Technical solutions specialist White Light (WL), as Illuminate’s in-house production partner, supplied the full-service awards AV package. In Level 4, where the pre- and post-dinner drinks were held, integrated lighting and a PA system for background music were provided. The awards presentation system in Level 5 comprised of a 6m stage with presenter lectern, audio system and microphones for the MC and guest speakers, projection screens flanking the stage with supplementary relays. An autocue with comfort monitors was also included, as well as branding to the LED entrance wall, lectern and stage backdrop and the moving light packaged in complementing colours. Everything was integrated to reflect the brand’s visual identity and colours and synchronised between the two levels of Illuminate for a seamless guest experience.
