Event: Christmas Party
Date: 14th December 2023
No of guests: 200
Venue: Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery
Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
Location was paramount as our Pharma client had just announced a move to central London and wanted a great London icon to mark the occasion – the Science Museum was a natural choice as our client’s core values go hand in hand with research and innovation.
What sort of experience did you want to create?
Being a pharma company, they wanted an immersive experience. They wanted the wow factor and a venue that would deliver a lasting memory of a great party.
How did you choose which space at the museum you wanted to use?
Wonderlab is an interactive scientific playground like no other and our client loved the idea that their guests would be able to have fun and let their hair down whilst having free roam of this remarkable space – there’s nothing like it anywhere else.
How did Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery work for the event? What was the benefit of using this space?
Our clients loved it from the get-go! Immediately they formed groups around the interactive experiments which worked as the perfect icebreakers. The Chemistry Bar proved to be the place to meet friends and enjoy the delicious smoking cocktails on offer. We had the Science Museum Explainers walking around encouraging guests to get involved and demonstrating the exhibits in a totally fun and engaging way – this went down a storm. For our guests who wanted to release some energy the slides were an enormous success as we had teams of competing guests shrieking and howling with laughter, exactly what they needed after a stressful year! Having worked from home for most of the year our guests got to meet their colleagues for some serious fun and the atmosphere at Wonderlab was the perfect environment for them to let off steam.
What set up did you have in Wonderlab?
We had a standing reception with free-flowing cocktails and bowl food for the first 2 hours before the DJ stoked up the music and got the crowd dancing for the rest of the night.
Who were your catering and AV partners? What catering did you opt for?
Catering was by the amazing Food by Dish and the AV provided by the incredible White Light.
The periodic table themed bar in Wonderlab was manned by staff wearing lab coats and goggles as they served smoking cocktails. Champagne, a signature Christmas cosmo served with dry ice, a selection of wines and bottled beer was also available.
Food by Dish also provided bowl food and dessert canapes including:
- Soy braised beef cheek, parsley mash, smoked onion cracker
- Roast cod, warm tartare sauce, vinegar and seaweed potato scraps
- “Eton pavlova” macerated raspberries, freeze dried raspberries, chantilly
- Classic crème brulee tart with glazed fig
- Raspberry chocolate and lime bonbon
What production was provided for the event?
White Light created a dynamic setting, guiding guests through three areas of the museum during the evening. The whole aesthetic was carefully designed in keeping with the client’s brand colours, which subtly changed within the different spaces used throughout the night.
