Client: Moving Venue
Event: Moving Venue Spring Summer Launch
Date: 21st March 2022
No of guests: 70
Event space: Illuminate
Event brief & objective:
To showcase our new spring summer menus to our listed venues in the hope of them seeing a new and exciting side to Moving Venue and how we have evolved over the last few years.
Which space did you use for the event?
We used Level 5 of Illuminate, which features the panoramic views of Kensington, and created an intimate event experience within the space.
What set up did you go for in Illuminate?
We had a drinks reception by the panoramic windows where we served Champagne and canapés. Guests were then invited to enter the circular dining area, which was concealed by sheer curtains, where we had created an ‘X’ shape dining table with canopies of foliage above us and spring soundscapes to accompany each course.
What catering did you provide? How was this served?
We served guests a 5-course tasting menu where we adapted dishes from both our bowl food and seated dinner menus to showcase as many of our new dishes as possible. Each dish was introduced by Alistair Riley, our Head Chef of Moving Venue, with either a paired alcoholic or de-alcoholised wine to ensure everyone felt included. As each course was served, the lighting changed to compliment the colours and presentation of the dish.
What was the inspiration behind the menus?
We focused on seasonality and sustainability but most of all taste. We wanted to show that vegan and vegetarian dishes are just as exciting as fish and meat.
Who was your AV partner? Was anything bespoke created for the event?
White Light created an encapsulated space within a larger space using not only lighting, but soundscapes of birds singing and atmospheric lighting to match each course.
